Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing the nursing department, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all nursing staff and daily operations of the nursing department
- Ensure delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with standards and policies
- Develop, implement, and monitor nursing policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility regulations
- Supervise hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation of nursing staff
- Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals for patient care planning
- Monitor patient outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Manage department budgets, staffing levels, and resource allocation
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure proper record-keeping
- Handle patient/family concerns and ensure satisfaction
