Recreational Aide Long Term Care (Job ID OOJ - 7129)

Position Title: Recreational Aide CNA certification is REQUIRED.

Requirements:

• MUST HAVE a minimum of 2 years of Recreational Aide experience—no exceptions.
• Experience with MDS is essential.
• Active BLS certification is required.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Activity Planning and Implementation:Independently plan, organize, and implement appropriate activities tailored to patients'/residents' abilities and limitations under the supervisor's general guidance.
2. Assessment of Needs:Collaborate with the supervisor to assess and reassess residents' activity interests, needs, and concerns through observation, conversations, and written records.
3. Community Reintegration:Support residents’ reintegration into the community by accompanying them on excursions, such as shopping malls, theaters, restaurants, picnics, bus/van rides, and other leisure activities.
4. Individual Engagement:Provide one-on-one engagement with patients/residents as needed.
5. Coordination and Logistics:Coordinate with hospital staff to ensure the availability and functionality of supplies, equipment, and materials for planned activities.
   Avoid schedule conflicts with other hospital departments or disciplines.
   Maintain and update the activity calendar.
6. Dietary Coordination:Work with the hospital’s dietary department to request special or ethnic food selections.
   Notify dietary staff about off-site meals or schedule changes.
