Assists in providing safe and effective nursing care as the O.R. RN during surgical and other invasive procedures through the performance of specific duties under the direction of the Director/Manager.
Service Line Coordination Responsibilities (when applicable): The expert practice of the Operating Room Service Line Coordinator is essential in ensuring safe patient outcomes, completion of the daily operating room schedule, and physician/ employee satisfaction. Responsibilities of Specialty Coordinator include, but are not limited to, the following as related to the surgical specialty:
Job Qualifications
- Days (No Weekends)
- Maintains expert knowledge of service specialty (procedures, equipment, supplies, surgeon preference).
- Establishes / Maintains direct, collaborative, working relationship with Specialty Surgeons.
- Provides new hire orientation to service specialty.
- Pursues continuing education regarding specialty procedures/supplies/equipment.
- Provides continuing education regarding specialty procedures/supplies/equipment.
- Maintains accurate preference cards.
- Ensures specialty instrument sets are complete and maintained in good working condition.
- Established collaborative relationships within Surgical Services (Supply Chain, OR Clinician, SPD) to meet the demands of continuously evolving services, procedures, equipment use, and instrument care

- + Basic Cardiac Life Support
- + (RN) Registered Nurse
- + Must have 3-5 years of recent RN OR experience- acute care
- + Current CNOR preferred
