Job Description

This is an imaging
position and NOT an RN. It requires an active xray license and must have
experience in either interventional radiology or cath lab.

weeks): 13 weeks – will be an ongoing need

o On-call (Y/N): Y

§ If yes, what are the on-call requirements? Up to 10 days per
month when fully staffed. That won’t
happen for a long time so it’ll be 2 days per week for now

o Hours Per
Shift
(ex: 8, 10, or 12): Open to 8’s or 10’s

o Shift Start Time: varies between 7-9 depending on day of
week and if they choose 8 or 10 hours

· Department Specific Details (ex. nurse/patient ratio, float or weekend
requirements, charting, equipment, special qualifications, or certs.): Right
now there are no weekend requirements.
We are looking to add either Saturday or Sunday call soon. We use EPIC to document and are in the
process of installing a brand new Siemens IR suite on 6/3. This position requires an active Illinois
license from IEMA and a board certified xray technologist through ARRT. An interventional radiology certification is
not necessary. The candidate must have
Interventional Radiology or cath lab experience. We could easily train someone who has cath
lab experience.

 

· Notes: Candidates can help with general xray if there are no
Interventional Radiology procedures being performed.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic radiographic exams.
  • Utilizes PACS and EMR systems
  • Performs interventional procedures per protocol and established procedures.
  • Maintains appropriate IV and Contrast Competency
  • Follows established protocols and procedures for proper patient position, exposure control, and radiation protection.
  • Performs office duties as needed.
  • Communicates clearly and effectively with all involved in the patient care process.
  • Cleans and inspects departmental equipment
  • Cleans and stocks Imaging rooms.


Education

  • Associate degree

Licenses and Certification

  • ARRT Certification in Radiology
  • IEMA
  • BLS

Experience and Skills

  • Technical experience: 3 years
