Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to collect blood samples from patients safely and efficiently. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for accurately identifying patients, performing venipunctures, labeling specimens, and ensuring proper handling and transportation of samples.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections.
- Verify patient identification and explain the blood-draw procedure.
- Collect, label, and process blood specimens accurately.
- Follow proper infection-control and safety procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient and specimen records.
- Prepare specimens for laboratory testing and transportation.
- Handle difficult draws and provide appropriate patient care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked work area.
- Communicate professionally with patients, nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff.
- Follow all facility policies, OSHA guidelines, and applicable regulations.
